New Sunday League
4 PM SUNDAY INSTRUCTIONAL LEAGUE
Nov 23, 30, Dec 7, Jan 4, 11, 18, 25, Feb 8, 15, Mar 1
Cost: No additional fees are required beyond basic club membership ($60 for new curlers). New curlers may use club provided equipment (brooms, grippers, stabilizers, sliders) at no cost. Returning curlers are asked to purchase their own equipment.
Format: Ten sessions over the course of the curling season, roughly 2 hours each. The first four sessions (Nov 23, 30, Dec 7, Jan 4) will begin with direct instruction on on-ice skill development and familiarization with the game of curling, followed by informal time for practice and individualized instruction as appropriate. The final six weeks (Jan 11, 18, 25, Feb 8, 15, Mar 1) will feature play in a league format, with participants forming teams and playing a different team each week as they would in regular league play. Teams will be formed with a mix of less and more experienced curlers to create teams with a blend of experience allowing ongoing learning.
Participation: For the instructional sessions, any new or existing club members may participate, though priority will be given to curlers with less experience. Participation by more experienced curlers will be emphasized in the league play portion of the program. Curlers are asked to commit to participating regularly, particularly in the league play portion so teams will have sufficient players.
Team Fees
Each league will have a team fee of $160 for the team. This is divided among team members as they wish. Some teams have 4 members, so $40 each. Other teams may have 5 and rotate equally, have 5 and one is just an alternate, have 5 and 2 people alternate weeks, etc. So it’s up to each team to decide. One payment for the team should be made.
The sponsor fee for each team is $50.
